Bbopgi, is a Korean candy snack traditionally sold on the side of the road. You've likely seen the browned disks of sugar, often imprinted with designs, during the late fall/winter. It's also a fun and easy treat to make with students.Ingredients
1/2 cup of sugar
A pinch of baking soda
Directions
1. Pour a thin layer of sugar on a plate.
2. Put 2 tablespoons of sugar in a ladle. Heat the sugar over a medium flame, stirring with a chopstick or fork to make sure it melts evenly. Be sure the ladle has a plastic handle, or wear oven mitts -- the handle will get hot.

3. When the sugar has completely melted, add a small pinch of baking soda and stir as the sugar begins to turn a light brown color.
4. Pour the liquid sugar onto your plate. Make pretty shapes. Misshapen blobs also taste just as good. :)
